Brockport’s very own Ellsworth Eagle recently competed in SUNY Mascot Madness, a state-wide competition where SUNY mascots face off against each other in hopes to be crowned the best mascot in the SUNY system. The Brockport community rallied behind Ellsworth and voting him through each round, in hopes to replicate his 2024 victory; however, Ellsworth ultimately fell short of winning the competition, losing to Oneonta’s Red the Dragon in the final round by only 1,717 votes.

Scholars Day 2026 is set to celebrate academic excellence

SUNY Brockport's annual Scholars Day is coming up on Tuesday, April 14. On Scholars Day, the Brockport community can attend sessions and learn about the research students conducted.  Scholars Day 2026's theme is "A Celebration of Academic Excellence." Over 250 students across many academic disciplines are set to present their research throughout the day.  So that Brockport students can attend Scholars Day, classes during the day are cancelled. Classes starting after 5 p.m. are still in session. 
Sigma Tau Delta's "Poetry at the Port" will connect Brockport students to poetry.
