Drake Memorial Library is hosting “Late Nights at Drake Library”, offering three evenings of extended hours to give students extra support and relaxing activities during the last week of classes and final exam week.
Drake Memorial Library will be open until midnight during the final week of classes on Monday, Dec. 1 and Tuesday, Dec. 2.
Just before finals week, which begins Monday, Dec. 8 through Saturday, Dec. 13, Drake Memorial Library will also be open until midnight on Sunday, Dec. 7.
During each Late Nights at Drake Library event, the library will be offering several opportunities for students to unwind during this stressful time and to get any extra help they might need to prepare for final exams beginning at 6 p.m.
Stress relief activities include calming crafts, word searches and coloring and activity sheets. Students will also have the opportunity to create their own custom bookmarks. A tea and hot chocolate bar will be available to give students something sweet to sip on during study session and to enjoy a soothing drink to warm up from the winter chill.
When students inevitably need an engaging distraction to give their brains a break from all the seemingly endless amounts of reading, writing and studying, Drake Memorial Library has just the thing. The library will be hosting “Hide and Seek with Duckies”, in which students must search to find rubber ducks hidden throughout the library.

For that may need academic support, whether it is help on an assignment or finding credible research sources, the library will have a designated librarian on duty who will be available until midnight on the above select days for students assistance.
Inside the library, the Raj Madan Café will be open until 9 p.m. beginning Monday, Dec. 1 through Thursday, Dec 4. The Raj Madan serves local gourmet Java Junction coffee, teas, sandwiches, salads and desserts.
The Roc Dog therapy dogs, the furry friends of SUNY Brockport who have been making frequent trips to campus throughout the fall semester, will be available on Dec. 4 from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Drake Memorial Library to provide emotional support to all students.
On Wednesday, Dec. 10, Drake Memorial Library is inviting all to participate in their “Cozy Day” event, encouraging students to come dressed in slippers, pajamas and bring their favorite blanket for an especially snug day of studying.
Though the last week of classes and final exams are undeniably a stressful time for all SUNY Brockport students, the hose of resources Drake Memorial Library will hopefully ease the mental and emotional burden for many.
