The leaves are changing and falling, the mornings are growing crisp and pumpkins are lining the porches of village residences. After a long and blisteringly hot summer, fall has finally settled over the Brockport community.
Here are just some of the fun, fall activities both the Brockport area and the SUNY Brockport campus offer for students to enjoy in and around campus.

Jitterbugs Café
Nothing says fall quite like a warm drink on a chilly day and luckily, SUNY Brockport students do not have to travel far to find one. Located in the Seymour Union, Jitterbugs Café serves Starbucks beverages in addition to their very own smoothies and pastries. Jitterbugs Café is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Drake Memorial Library
Drake Memorial Library offers students a warm and cozy escape from the damp chill of autumn air. Here, students can hunker down in one of the many quiet study spaces and unwind on the comfortable chairs and couches scattered throughout the library.
From Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” to Ray Bradbury’s “Something Wicked This Way Comes”, Drake Memorial Library’s sweeping shelves are filled with classic seasonal literature and librarians ready to help students find the works they’re looking for.
Within the library is the Raj Madan Café, which serves gourmet sandwiches, salads, desserts, coffees and teas from local business Java Junction, offering seasonal snacks for long study stretches and reading sessions.

Disc Golf
For those interested in trying a new sport this season, SUNY Brockport has its own disc golf course. With a total of nine holes, this course is friendly for beginners to the sport but still offers plenty of variety for players with previous experience.
Biking
All SUNY Brockport students have the opportunity to take advantage of free bike rentals through the Special Events and Recreation Center (SERC). Bikes are available for rental at the SERC’s Membership Services desk with a valid student ID. Taking in the sights of the fall foliage, getting some fresh, crisp air and visiting some of the many small businesses around campus are all fun and free activities thanks to the Eagle Share Bike Program.

The Strand Theater
For those long, stressful fall semester days, the Brockport Strand Theater offers an escape into the world of entertainment. Located just off campus on Brockport’s Main Street, this vintage theater is a staple of the Brockport community. The Strand is a first-run screening theater, so be sure to check out its marquee, so you don’t miss all the latest and greatest movies.
Joe’s Farm
Just south of campus, Joe’s Farm is a well-known favorite for everything autumn in the Brockport community. Each weekend in October, Joe’s Farm offers an expansive corn maze and wagon rides around the scenic property. Though the maze is now closed for this year, Joe’s Farm is still offering its road-side farm stand for fresh-picked apples and pumpkins, open seven days a week
From pumpkin spice lattes and afternoon bike rides to a thrilling read and a late-night matinee, SUNY Brockport and the Brockport community have something for everyone to enjoy throughout the fall season.
