No more jumping the fence: railroad crossing reopening soon

With just five weeks left of the semester, the pedestrian railroad crossing off Townhomes Terrance will finally re-open.

With Phase I Residence Drive construction still ongoing, students have been instructed to take detours to access the north and south sides of campus. However, many have been shortcutting these routes, jumping the railroad and construction zone fencing.

Fortunately, this will no longer be necessary as construction completing the walkway is underway.

“With weather permitting, we hope the crossing will be in use by the first week of December,” Gary Morog, Director of Facilities Planning and Construction said.

Following the railroad crossing’s re-opening, the rest of this phase of construction will be complete in the next two to three weeks.
