SUNY Brockport has released a statement regarding two incidents of vandalism in Bramley Hall over the weekend. Both incidents involved a racial slur being posted on a bulletin board within the building.

One individual has come forward and accepted responsibility for one of the incidents, and the matter is being handled confidentially by the Office of Student Conduct. The other incident is still under investigation. If any student, staff, faculty or community member has information about the incident, Brockport encourages you to contact the Office of Residential Life and report what you know.

Chief Diversity Officer Damita Davis would like to reiterate that this behavior is contrary to SUNY Brockport’s values.

“This type of behavior is unacceptable and has no place in our community. It is disappointing to know that this took place on our campus. Should you experience or witness a bias incident on campus, we want to know about it so that it can be addressed properly,” Davis said.

Individuals can notify Brockport of bias incidents through the Bias Incident Reporting System.
