Upcoming Writers Forums This Fall

The Writers Forum is back this year, and SUNY Brockport has five established writers presenting throughout the rest of the fall semester. 

Wednesday, September 21, 2022, in the Liberal Arts Building- McCue Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. 

  • Camille Guthrie, the author behind four books of poetry: “Diamonds,” “Articulated Liar: Poems for Louise Bourgeois,” “In Captivity” and “The Master Thief.” 

Wednesday, October 5, 2022, in the Liberal Arts Building – McCue Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. 

  • Andy Plattner, who has published five fiction books, including four short story collections. 

Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in the Liberal Arts Building – McCue Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. 

  • David Mihalyov, who has produced a few short fiction stories and poems.  

Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Brockport Downtown (REOC) – 161 Chestnut Street, Rochester, NY at 7:30 p.m. 

  • Sharon Olds, the author behind eleven volumes of poetry, as well as a Pulitzer Prize winner for Poetry. 

Wednesday, November 30, 2022, in the Liberal Arts Building – McCue Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. 

  • Clifford Thompson, who has produced personal essays and writings on books, film, jazz and American identity. They are also the author of a book titled, “What Is It: Race, Family, and One Thinking Black Man’s Blues.”
