Before the Thanksgiving break, SUNY Brockport announced the commencement of the 2020 gifts of gratitude campaign.
In the spirit of the season, the annual campaign aims to organize the efforts of students, faculty and staff at SUNY Brockport and direct it toward families in need.
According to the Daily Eagle, “Several families in the Brockport Central School District have been identified as families in need during the holiday break because their children receive free or reduced meals.”
However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the campaign will be conducted in a different manner than from years past. Those behind the campaign are currently only accepting monetary donations online in order to keep all parties involved as safe as possible.
The money will be used to purchase each family’s ideal holiday meal, winter gear and other miscellaneous items they may need. As soon as all the items are prepared, they are safely picked up or dropped off to the families.
If you want to engage with and serve your local community, click the link or go to the Daily Eagle website to donate. The last day to donate is Dec. 11.
