Valentine’s Day is coming up this Saturday and there are plenty of ways to celebrate around campus. With multiple clubs and organizations hosting Valentine’s themed events, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
On Monday, Feb. 9, “Valentines for Vets” will be hosted in the Seymour Union from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The event is open to students, faculty and staff. Attendees can make valentines cards for Bobby’s Valentines, a non-profit organization created in the memory of Captain Robert Bager. All the valentines created at this event will be handed out to veterans in Western New York to thank them for their service.
The Department of Health Promotion and Prevention Education and Brockport Student Goverment (BSG) will host “Keep it Sexually Safe Fest” on Friday, Feb. 13 in the Seymour Union Lounge from 12-2 p.m. This event was created to empower students on how to make healthy choices regarding safer sex, consent, healthy relationships and self-love.
Also on February 13, “Hearts, Beats and Eats: Valentine’s Dance Party” will be hosted in the Seymour Union Gallery from 8-10 p.m. Students can celebrate Valentine’s Day with music, treats, dancing and free food. The event will feature a live DJ while students create candy gift bags.
BSG will conclude the Valentine’s events on February 14 with “Valentine’s Vibes” in the Seymour Union Gallery from 7-9 p.m. The event will feature homemade cookies and Valentine’s crafts.
Various dorms on campus will have Valentine’s Day themed events hosted by resident assistants. More event information can be found on the Brockport Calendar and MyBrockport.
