SUNY Brockport student athletes swapped jerseys for costumes at the second annual Lip Sync Battle, raising $1279 and counting, to be donated for California wildfire relief.
Hosted by the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the event took over the Vlogianitis (Vlog) Gymnasium with multiple high energy performances. Teams of athletes lip synced and danced to crowd favorites, including “I’m Sexy and I Know It” by LMFAO, “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen, and “Let it Grow” from The Lorax.
Now in its second year, the Lip Sync Battle has quickly become a tradition, drawing in enthusiastic crowds of students, families and community members to enjoy a night full of laughter.
This year’s event aimed to support communities affected by ongoing wildfires in California. Leading up to the event, athletic teams worked together to sell Lip Sync Battle T-shirts for $15, which included free admission to the show. Entry at the door was $5, with all proceeds going towards relief efforts.
With creativity, humor, and heart, SUNY Brockport’s student athletes delivered more than just a night of entertainment, they came together to support a meaningful cause and make a difference beyond the stage.
