Cherelle Garner, SUNY Brockport assistant professor of military science, is looking for students that would be interested in starting up Brockport’s first ever American Indian Student Association (AISA). If created, this club would be inclusive to all American Indigenous students.
According to the announcement on the Events Today calendar, “It is a community where Indigenous students come together and work collectively to promote education and interest in American Indigenous culture, as well as to dispel any misconceptions regarding the art, language, history, and lives of American Indigenous people.”
If enough students show up to this informational meeting and are willing to become members, AISA could be approved as a club this semester.
Garner invites any interested American Indigenous SUNY Brockport students to join the informational meeting in the Intercultural Center today, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m.
