The Brockport women’s soccer team continues to rack up awards as Jaylah Cossin, Lyndsey Miller and Amelia Breton were named to the NCAA Division 3 All-Region teams. Cossin and Miller were named first team All-Region and Breton was named second team All-Region.
Cossin was also named Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year and first team All-Conference. She finished with 11 goals, eight assists and 30 points on the season. The 11 goals and 30 points were first in the conference and the 30 points were fourth best in the conference. This is the second straight season that Cossin earned a first team All-Region selection.
Miller was also named Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year and first team All-Conference to accompany the All-Region selection.
“I was very surprised to receive the honor,” Miller said. “Coming off such a great season, doing well in the regular season and making it to the playoffs and then eventually receiving the bid, it was a perfect wrap to a really good season. Doing that alongside Jaylah and Amelia and everyone else that got named to an All-Conference team shows how good of a team we are, especially in the first season in a new conference. I feel like we really made our mark.”
Along with the second team All-Region selection, Breton also earned a first team All-Conference selection.
“It definitely means a lot,” Breton said. “It’s something that I am very grateful for. I can’t take it without giving credit to the whole team. They are always behind me, always up behind everybody. I can’t take credit for it; it’s for the team.”
The team received an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament after losing to Nazareth in the Empire 8 semifinals. Breton was honored to be able to represent SUNY Brockport on the national stage.
“It’s amazing,” Breton said. “So grateful for the experience. Being one of 64 teams in the country, it’s not what we expected. We deserved it, but it was so unexpected. With this team, it means so much more.”
The team is looking ahead to the 2025 season and will hope to continue their success.
