SUNY Brockport’s annual Homecoming and Family weekend is making its return to the Golden Eagle’s nest Sept. 20-22, 2024, with festivities kicking off Friday Sept. 19. Students, faculty and alumni are expected to gather for a busy schedule of events, highlighted by the homecoming parade, football game, festival and comedy show.
On Saturday, Sept. 21 the Homecoming Parade will march through the Village of Brockport, starting on Clinton Street and looping down Main Street before returning to campus. This year’s parade theme is “Color Wars,” and students are encouraged to show off their green and gold pride.
At 1p.m., the SUNY Brockport football team will take on Wilkes University the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium. SUNY Brockport students can enjoy free admission, with additional tickets available for purchase at https://brockportsg.universitytickets.com
The premier event of the weekend, the Homecoming Festival, will run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Lot V. The festival will feature food trucks, carnival rides, activities, games, vendor tents and more. Admission to the festival is free.
The weekend’s entertainment continues with an evening full of comedy, featuring “Saturday Night Live” cast member James Austin Johnson, originally from Nashville. The performance will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Special Events Recreation Center (SERC). Admission is free for students, faculty, family and community members.
The day will conclude with a firework display at 9 p.m. at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium, sponsored by The National Guard.
