Collegiate Athletes, Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) cadets and other early birds witnessed a total lunar eclipse this morning. According to NASA, this eclipse won’t happen again until March 2025.
The total lunar eclipse, also referred to as the “Blood Moon” for its dark red hue, was on full display at 5:57 a.m. for residents of SUNY Brockport. The eclipse started at 5:16 a.m. and lasted until 6:41 a.m. Thanks to the clear skies, all watchers could enjoy an uninterrupted view.
For SUNY Brockport junior Margrett Thayer, a cadet with Brockport ROTC, the eclipse was interesting to watch.
“It was pretty; definitely not something you see every day,” Thayer said.
SUNY Brockport freshman Carley Hughes was quite captivated by the show early this morning.
“It was honestly really cool. I couldn’t stop watching it,” Hughes said.
