MEN’S LACROSSE

BROCKPORT (0-1) 7
ALFRED UNIVERSITY (2-0) 8
Alfred outscored Brockport 4-1 in the second half to finish off the comeback victory. Justin Mosher buried the game winner with 7:51 left in the game. Connor Didomineck kick-started the Saxons’ comeback with two tallies in a five-minute span in the third quarter. Liam O’Connor responded to Didomineck’s goals with one of his own to give Brockport a 7-6 lead. Shane Weber knotted the game up for Alfred, which set up Mosher’s game-winner.

Brockport took a 6-4 lead into the halftime break thanks to two goals apiece from Brendan Halleran and Owen Vanwie. O’Connor and Brandon Sveda also contributed to the Golden Eagles’ offensive effort. O’Connor, Sveda and Jhovanny Olivares all collected first-half assists for Brockport.

Brockport’s next game is on Friday, March 26, when the Golden Eagles travel to play SUNY Cortland at 4 p.m.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

#13 BROCKPORT (0-1) 7
#12 ITHACA COLLEGE (2-0)
 9
Three consecutive goals over a five-minute span opened up an 8-5 lead for Ithaca that Brockport couldn’t come back from. Jacqui Hallack started off the run and Indira Varma netted the next two for the Bombers. Anna Leva and Allison Jennings both scored to get the Golden Eagles back within one, but Megan Motkowski closed the game out for Ithaca.

Ithaca had an answer for all of Brockport’s offense and the Bombers never trailed in the game. There were ties at 1-1 and 3-3, but that was as close as the Golden Eagles could get to a lead.

Leva kept Brockport’s offense afloat in the first half with two goals. Natalie Strough, Cassidy Burnash and Heather Conklin also found the back of the net for the Golden Eagles.

Brockport’s next game is at #18 SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday, March 24 at 4 p.m.
