Field Hockey played Wells college in an absolute dominate win for the Golden Eagles for senior day –beating the team 8-0.
The Green and Gold honored their three seniors: Bailey Lazore, Jillian Owens and assistant coach Taylor Weber.
A great start for Brockport in the first period as the Golden Eagles scored four goals in the first quarter alone. Two of those scores came from Junior Tiffany Andres. At the end of the first half, the Golden Eagles were soaring high up 7-0.
Wells did not give up the fight. They come into the second half and only gave up one goal before the final buzzer. While their defense improved, Wells was still unable to find the back of the net.
The Golden Eagles defense was unforgiving – only allowing two shots for the game. The offense for Brockport was humming. They racked up 12 penalty corners with seven coming in the first period.
Coach Archambeau kept the team motivated with their motto for the season.
“Humble and hungry,” Archambeau said.
Archambeau is proud of her underclassmen for stepping up and adding to their culture. With no true seniors on the team, she’s proud they have been setting the standard.
Andres had no intrest in talking about herself, but rather her team as a whole and where they’re headed.
“We don’t get complacent, no matter what team we play,” Andres said. “We all like to push each other on and off the field we have such a good culture that keeps each others energy up no matter what.”
For the first time in program history, the Golden Eagles start their 6-0. Next, they are headed to Itaca to match up against the Bombers and hopefully keep making history.
