Recap of November’s Netflix and Disney+ additions

As the semester comes to an end and the holiday season begins, don’t forget to tune into these streaming platforms to view the newest films and tv series released in November, ranging from all year-round genres of entertainment and holiday specials.  

In the first two weeks of November, Netflix released season five of “The Crown,” which is Netflix’s retelling of Queen Elizabeth II reign to modern times, season three of “Love is Blind,” a social experiment about couples falling in love before even meeting, and season four of Manifest. This series follows the mysterious disappearance and then sudden reappearance of Flight 828 almost five years later.  

On Nov. 17, the final season of “Dead to Me” was released. This drama comedy stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini playing two widows who meet at a support group. Their friendship ultimately alters their lives forever. Netflix also released the 2022 tv series “1899” about a group of immigrants travelling from London to New York who get caught up in a mysterious riddle after finding a second vessel adrift on the open sea. Feel-good romantic Christmas comedy “Christmas with You” and another “Knives Out Mystery: Glass Onion” starring Daniel Craig also premiered. On Nov. 23, the spin-off adaptation “Wednesday” from Wednesday Addams in the Addams Family was released as well.  

Disney+ released “Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” a behind the scenes of “She-Hulk” on Nov. 3. “Zootopia” (shorts), “Saving Our Squad with David Beckham” and National Geographic’s tv series about animal predation and survival “World’s Deadliest” were also released in the first week of November. National Geographic also released a documentary about the five key turning points from the D-Day landings which can be seen on Disney+. 

On Nov. 16, Disney+ released its two-episode premiere of “The Santa Clauses.” This original series will be a continuation of Tim Allen’s “The Santa Clause” film franchise from 1994. In addition, the new series “Limitless” with Chris Hemsworth, who will explore different physical challenges such climbing skyscrapers will come to this platform. “Disenchanted” premiered on Disney+ on Nov. 18. This Disney original is the prequel to “Enchanted” from 2007. Lastly, Disney+ streamed the “Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium” original concert on Nov. 20. Don’t forget to look at Disney+ and Netflix for these upcoming additions.
