Conservative political activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated on Wednesday, Sept. 10, while holding a debate at Utah Valley University. Graphic footage of the controversial figure being shot rapidly spread on social media, sending shock to viewers across the aisle.
Whether you loved him or loathed him, it can’t be disputed that Kirk left a lasting mark on political discourse and engagement – especially for members of Gen Z.
Kirk was known for traveling to college campuses and hosting open debates from his “Prove Me Wrong” table. TPSUSA has spurred the rise of young people openly affiliating themselves with conservative beliefs, with TPUSA having a presence on more than 800 college campuses.
Kirk’s assassination has led an already divided country to argue on social media about the nature of his death and the state of America’s gun control laws through posts, videos and comments.
