Brockport defeated Buffalo State on the road, 41-0.
Brockport shut out Buffalo State on the road Thursday 41-0, marking the ninth straight year the Golden Eagles have claimed a I-90 Bowl victory.
Isaiah Simmons led the way on the ground, rushing for a game-high 178 yards. The senior running back also found the endzone three times in the dominating win.
Ben Gocella went 10-12 and threw for 140 yards, including a 56-yard pass to wide reciever Nathan Williams for Gocella’s only touchdown of the night.
On defense, the Golden Eagles gave the Bengals little breathing room, totaling seven sacks on the day for a loss of 38 yards. Johnathan Cranker, Jayden Ferell and Kanye Davis all picked up a sack for losses of 10, seven and six yards respectively.
The Golden Eagles will host Hobart College in their home opener Sept. 13, with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m.
